Microsoft’s “The Reserve” located in Playa Vista, CA is a tenant improvement of a concrete commercial office project. The project totals 21,116 SF throughout one level of a low-rise structure.
Located at “The Reserve”, a 20-acre site which was formerly the site of a U.S. Post Office, Microsoft’s facility consists of a variety of programming. Creative spaces include a 9,000 SF customer space showcasing a wide-range of Microsoft’s newest, cutting-edge technologies. Designed with the intent of hosting collaborative discussions, presentations and training sessions, an external facing conference center includes six conference rooms and a multi-purpose room expandable to 250 seats using a skyfold partition. Reclaimed wood reception and lounge areas feature technology displays, a hospitality zone and business service areas. Surrounded by vibrant wall graphics, the Xbox Experience allows users to test drive the gaming system, provide feedback and experience real-time alterations, while the Envisioning Center allows users to test internet based games and applications. An 11,000 SF secure employee space is an effective, creative work environment that aligns to business needs. This area includes spaces that reflect current components such as open work areas, conference rooms, hubs (kitchen/lounge), phone rooms, focus rooms, flex offices and open team areas. Advanced technology utilized throughout the facility includes complex audio-visual systems for video conferencing and broadcast training and secure individual data and electric portals in all conferencing centers.
